Important Dates for Voting

October 23:  Voter registration deadline . This is the last day you can register to vote with a new address WITHOUT two forms of ID.

October  29:  This is the last day to request a mail- in ballot.  The request MUST be postmarked by October 29.  Iowa City Post Office has its last pick up time at 5:29 pm if you mail at the post office drop.  Most satellite mailboxes have much earlier pick up times.  If you mail away from the post office, be sure and check the post office pick up time.

November 1:  Absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date.  Please note the time of pick up if dropping at a satellite mailbox.

November 2: Election Day.  ANYONE can bring in a spoiled ballot and ballot at the polls.  Anyone can register to vote and vote the same day IF THEN BRING IN TWO DOCUMENTS an identification AND proof of residency.  This proof can also be a witness who has identification.  This is the process after OCTOBER 23.  Anyone can vote with a provisional ballot at the polls on Election Day.

ALSO: Any spoiled ballot may be brought to  the Auditor’s Office  8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
