Homecoming Parade and Rally

JC Democrats in the UI Homecoming Parade and Rally
Friday, October 1 at 5:15pm
Location: Down town Iowa City at the corner of Jefferson and Van Buren
Gather to march in the Homecoming Parade (we’re #18 float)

and attend the rally afterwards

in the IC REC Center, 220 S. Gilbert , for smoked pork sandwiches (thanks

to Mary Mascher’s brother)!  Volunteers needed to set up

food at 5PM at the Rec Center.

The University of Iowa Homecoming Parade is Friday, October 1st.   The Parade starts at 5:45 pm. Volunteers to be in the parade are needed.
The UI and Johnson County Democrats are entry #18. Our entry line up is at the corner of Van Buren and Jefferson (facing away from Jefferson and towards Iowa Ave).   You’ll want to be in the area as soon as you can.  Since the Dems are so early in the parade, it would be great if you can be there by 5:15 pm.  Bike, bus, walk would be easiest, as many streets will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Here is the entire route:

Following the parade a rally will be held at the Iowa City Recreation Center, 220 S Gilbert St, Iowa City, where refreshments will be served.

All are welcome. Wear your favorite political shirt, bring signs, ride a bike, skate, walk, or ride in truck. Please invite friends.
