There will be a Fund Raiser for Becky Schmitz for Iowa Senate 7:00 p.m. TUESDAY JUNE 22 AT THE MILL in Iowa City hosted by Senators Joe Bolkcom and Bob Dvorsky.
In these last 4 years, Becky has proven herself to be a progressive, dedicated and hardworking policy maker. As the head of the Senate Education Committee, she helped pass legislation that increased funding to K-12 schools, community colleges and our public universities. She led the effort to raise teacher pay and expand our voluntary preschool program. We have had a terrific four years of accomplishments and Becky deserves much credit for this record. We need her to return to the Senate to continue to make progress.
While Becky officially represents only the southern area of Johnson County, in her heart, however, she is a voice for every Johnson County Democrat and every Iowan who wants our state to be a better place to live.
