Meetings
The Johnson County Democratic Central Committee is the governing body of our county party, and it meets on the first Thursday of every month. All party meetings are open to the public. If you’d like to get more involved with local Democratic politics, joining our next central committee meeting is a great way to get started!
Party meetings are hybrid. The meeting could be all virtual based around around the Covid-19 levels in Johnson County before the meeting invite is sent. To join one of our meetings, please email us at democratsjohnsoncounty@gmail.com and let us know which meeting you’d like to attend; we’ll reply back with the appropriate information.
Free Lunch
On the first Friday of every even-numbered month (February, April, …, October, December) we cook and serve lunch to members of our community through the Free Lunch Program at 1105 S Gilbert Ct.
Volunteers can work one of two shifts: Prep (9:30-11:30), where we make the food and prepare the dining room, and Serving/Clean Up (11:30-1:30ish).
To join us, please contact Roseanne Cook (rosanne.cook@gmail.com), Robin Roseman (robin.roseman@gmail.com), or Steven Damm (garland1060@gmail.com).
We’re always accepting donations to the free lunch program. If you’d like to contribute, you can send donations by mail to Rosanne Cook, 10 Valley View Place NE, Iowa City, 52240. Please make checks out to Rosanne Cook and write “Free Lunch” on the memo line. Thank you!

Parades
The JCDems regularly march in Coralville’s Fourth of July and other summer parades. Watch the weekly newsletter or check out the events section on our Facebook page.
