- 1. Approval of July 11, 2013 Agenda – Without Objection
- 2. Approval of June 6, 2013 Minutes – Without Objection
- 3. Chair Report – Thanks to everyone who came out for the parades. It has been a busy month and the next few months will be busy as well with more parades, the JC Fair and the BBQ.
- 4. Treasurer Report – Karen motioned and Diana seconded. Approved
- 5. Executive Committee Reports – Dennis Roseman from the Platform Committee handed out a document to be handed out at the JC Fair on our Platform views of Agriculture and Environment.
- 6. Recognition of Elected Representatives: Joe Bolkcom, Janet Lyness, Lonnie Pulkrabek, Mary Mascher, Patrick Hughes, Dave Jacoby and Kathryn Valde
- 7. Old Business
- a. Free Lunch – Pass the box raised $57. About 120 people attended the last time we served
- b. Election of Central Committee Members – both were nominated and approved
i. Ravi Patel – IC04
ii. Scott Heldt – IC11
- c. Election of 2nd District Central Committee Representatives – none
- 8. New Business
- a. ICE – Meets periodically to brainstorm next steps.
i. Data Governance is working on creating a volunteer database for Johnson County to be housed in VoteBuilder
ii. Website/Media group is working with Greg Johnson trying to make jcdems.org more user friendly. Please send email to info@jcdems.org if you notice something that needs correcting. Currently under constructions and not all things updated.
- b. Parades – great attendance so far – thank you
i. Stickers are $.09 – hand them out but please don’t hand out multiples
- c. JC Fair
i. Set up on July 21st. Need to cover 9 AM – 9 PM. 2 hour shifts. If interested in a shift please send an email to info@jcdems.org.
ii. As last year we will have stand-up Obama and Popcorn with JCDems stickers
- d. Fall BBQ
i. Sunday October 13 from 3-7 PM at the JC Fairgrounds
ii. Committee will meet later
- e. Cedar/Johnson County Pot luck will be at 326 N Fourth St, West Branch, IA at 5 PM on August 3rd. Please plan on joining. More info will be coming.
- f. Harkin Grant – up to $2K per county. Some of our weaknesses are Rural, Minorities and Youth.
i. Application due August 17
ii. We need to get more people to participate with us.
- g. 2nd District Workshop – August 24 at Oskaloosa
