Synopsis Executive Committee Meeting Oct 29
1) Review and “postmortem” of the BBQ. The Committee discussed at length what went well (most things) as well as what
could be improved for the next BBQ. After further discussion at the Central Committee meeting, a document will be prepared and put in the the Executive Committee Archives.
2) Preparations for January Caucus. We need to send to the IDP a list of our Caucus locations. A list previously approved by the Central Committee has met with some problems. There were some problems with scheduling conflicts, that are mostly solved. The other problem is that some locations are charging for the space (because it is a Saturday and many buildings
are not ordinarly open then). Rod Sullivan will come up with a few scenarios to be presented to the Central Committee.
3) Discussion of meeting times for the Executive Committee was raised again. There was agreement that the
Executive Committee should not meet immediately prior to the Central Committee Meeting, but on a different day.
After considerable discussion, it was decided to keep the current plan of meeting at 7:30 on the Thursday before a regularly scheduled Central Committee meeting (if this date is a reasonable one). For example, there are clear problems with this plan for November and December of this year due to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
